Intense Therapy  is a massage clinic specializing in clinical massage and working closely with your doctor or chiropractor and following a prescription for your care.  Of course, we will also accept you as a regular client for massage without a prescription at a reasonable cost. 
 
If you want relaxation massage, come see us, we will treat you as a client, still giving you the best massage available.   If you have a medical condition that can be helped with massage, come see us with a prescription from your doctor and we will accept you for treatment as a doctor's patient  and follow his/her treatment plan for your care.    
 
Utilizing her training as a Medical Massage Therapist, when referred by your doctor, Lisa focuses on treating stress, injury, and illness through the use of manual techniques that improve circulation, enhance muscular relaxation, relieve pain, reduce stress, enhance immune function, or promote health and well being.   

 

Outcome-based massage is specific to a diagnosis provided by a referring physician.  Medical Massage  Therapists require a physician's prescription, specific diagnosis and treatment code when treating patients.  (Of course no prescription is necessary when you come to us as a massage client.)
 
Massage therapists practicing medical  massage have advanced training in evaluation and treatment of movement and structure of the musculoskeletal system, training  in medical documentation and terminology, advanced communication skills, and advanced training in pathologies and protocols for medical based treatment.  
 
When a patient comes into the clinic the diagnostic code the doctor presented with the presctiption does not specify the degree and phase of injury, nor does it specify the degree and location of the hypermobility or hypomobility so a comprehensive evaluation will be necessary.
 
Evaluation ensures the patient receive treatment techniques that are correct and appropriate for the phase and stage of healing that the patient is in.
